Unit 1: Knowing yourself: A question of identity and maturing
Unit Launch: Vignette writing - the Vignette will be the first in-class writing assignment and we will use it to review how to revise, create imagery, use specific and meaningful words, and how to create plot. The Vignette will be 100 words or less. Sample vignettes can be found here. Students can share their final product with the world via Reader's Digest here.

Unit 1 Culminating Project: The Encyclopedia of an Ordinary William Penn Life Project.
The two songs I had as choices in class fit both the criteria for being about growing up and for not using the "really" bad profanity. You could use your own choice for songs about growing up, BUT it can't have the "N" word, any of the "F" words, or be totally misogynistic. (click on that word for its definition.)
